Not Ready for a Retirement Residence
How many times have I heard it from the folks that tour our senior living buildings “I’m not ready for that”. This takes my thinking to there are retirement residences and there are retirement residences. Clearly, some are not worth a second thought, but there are those that are healthy communities and truly do provide a better lifestyle for people – but it means living in a condo. Condo life might be OK for some, but I like to get outside. I like having my own four walls and a little garden that I can play in when I want to.

All very true and lots of fun, but nobody talks about the ocean….it is on one of the warmest sections of ocean in the Vancouver and Gulf Islands. Bring your kayak and practise in our ponds, then head down to the water. The diving is fantastic. The community sunk a 747 Jet (after eco-izing it) to provide a spot for marine life to make home – and that they did. within walking distance from the Resort.
New Park Model Inventory Arrives
Over the winter our inventory dropped to two park models, not really much for display. We are pleased to announce the arrival of 5 new Canadian Standard Park Models.
What is a Park Model, you ask?
Well, by law it is a Z241 class recreational vehicle able to be licensed and towed down the highway. Really, they are intended to be “infrequently towed” and settled at a location in a Resort or vacation property for the season.
Hardy plank exterior is super low maintenance and drywall interiors with options such as granite counter tops and super efficient storage make them a great option for downsizing and taking life a little bit easier. This carefree lifestyle offers a simple but luxurious environment that is large enough to be comfortable for a couple, yet small enough so that it is easy to maintain. With our helpful Resort staff, you can do as much or as little as you like.

Sunshine at Last :)
Summer is finally here. What a wonderful day it is. The walking trails throughout the Resort are in fine shape and the weather couldn’t be any better for a nice walk around the property. The magnolia was late blooming and the tree peony is alive and well after an accidental hard pruning last fall. The veggie patch strawberries are blooming in anticipation of the big juicy strawberries of the summer.
We spotted koi in Wedding Pond this morning. We were worried they may not have made the winter as we had snow several times, but they seem hardy and bigger than last year.
The flower baskets are up thanks to Linda and they look wonderful.
With this sunshine the hole for the pool should dry out allowing us to continue our work.
The birds are singing and the bees buzzing. Summer is here.

Frogs! Frogs! Frogs!
RIBBET! RIBBET! RIBBET! Who said cleaning up the ponds would scare away the frogs?? At night the Resort air is filled with the sounds of what seems like thousands and thousands of the little green guys singing for a date. It seems like you are so deep in the woods, and yet you can walk to town. The sound is incredible. It is natures symphony.
B&B Suites Done!
Thank you to Karen West Design Group – the B&B Suites are romantic, warm and inviting. The building was originally a barn on the site with a loft upstairs to hold the hay for the cows in the stable below. Many years ago the barn was converted to a two B&B suites – the Loft Suite upstairs and Stable Suite below. The Loft Suite has one bedroom, has a new queen size pillow top mattress on a beautiful four poster antique bed with a lace drape head board. The ensuite bathroom has a three mirror antique vanity that has been updated with a pump faucet and raised bathroom sink. This combined with a new claw foot style tub create a romantic bath experience. The barley twist dining room table will seat four comfortably. The Stable Suite is cozy and comfortable with a woodstove. Both suites have full kitchens and the Loft Suite has new washer and dryer. Come by and take a look. A great place for the relatives to stay on vacation!!
